Temples and forehead first — a small amount, staying well clear of your eyes. Then be more generous across the back of your neck, behind your ears, and on the inside of your wrists. Breathe in slowly for a few seconds afterwards; the mint does most of its work through your nose. Reapply as the day needs it, no more than once every 2 hours.

It shouldn’t — everything is pre-diluted in fractionated coconut oil, so it goes on skin-ready rather than neat. Start with Original if you’re sensitive or new to essential oils; Extra Strength adds eucalyptus and menthol and lands noticeably sharper. Patch-test the inside of your elbow first if you’d like, avoid broken or irritated skin, and stop if you get any irritation.
